To protect what little is left of my retirement and savings, I sometime watch CNBC. No more. Aside from the yelling, bickering, and free market blather, they try to do news. Because of their bias, that part of their offering falls way below even FOX’s, whom we all know is simply a tool for Rupert Murdock’s and Roger Ailes’ political machines. The government had a chance to stop Murdock, GE should stop Kernan and the rest of the banterers. I will watch no more.
So, what put me over the top this morning? No I didn’t see Santelli, one of the head bag dippers of the Tea Party, according to some. It was Kernan dissing Harwood after an interview with Harry Reid. Kernan distorted the report, putting his own personal spin on a very carefully presented piece by Harwood. Harwood quoted an ad placed by Reid which called his opponent “dangerous.” All of a sudden, Kernan launched into a tirade, asking Harwood how Harwood would portray democrats who lived on the extremes. Where did that come from? Then Kernan inserted two real characters for Harwood to characterize, Senators Sanders (Ind. VT) and Franken (Dem. Minn). Harwood looked stunned, like the wind had been knocked out of him. He barely could answer Kernan’s questions, except to say the language wasn’t his, but rather came for an ad.
Kernan then said that Bernie was a socialist who wanted the US to be a “socialist” state. Where did he get that? I’ll bet that the same people who believe President Obama is a muslim believe that Bernie is a socialist. News to us in Vermont.
At least when Jon Stewart talks, you know he doesn’t think its news. Kernan should go back to biological research. What he thinks is cynical and sarcastic, Lenny Bruce would see as obscene.
