jahavahriel and Martin

So, they don’t have to look dirty or wierd to be on the street. They can have designer jean, be color coordinated, and branded totes. Open shoes. No jewelry. No tracks. A little thin, eh. Henna in her hair. Combed. Workers hat. Sign needs a little work. But, not all that bad for almost 10:00am on a Saturday morning in Burlington.

Put the old value judgment aside. She still be sitting on the street looking for handouts. Not a business plan she learned at Wharton.

“May I take your photo?”

“Am I photogenic?”

“I’d say so.”

“You gonna put me in a magazine or a newspaper.”

“I wish. Just going to put it on my website.”

She turned to a friend who had just delivered a second cup of coffee, “should I do this?”

“Its OK. Just something they do when you sit on the street.”

While we spoke, a street guy named Martin picked up my bottle of Perrier which I placed on the sidewalk to free my hands when I shot. “What are you doing?”

“The bottle has a deposit.”

“Can I take your picture?”

“Sure.”

I gaveĀ  them both a dollar.
